Abstract

|
A case of systemic cryptococcosis treated with amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine is presented. A 15 year old boy was admitted because of cough, fever, and the lymph nodes enlargement. Cryptococcus neoformans was found in the lymph node biopsy and the cerebrospinal fluid culture. Amphotericin B and 5-fluorocytosine were administered for 14 weeks, followed by marked, improvement of symptoms and signs. One year thereafter, he enjoys his normal dailylife.
